Motorola unveils a 200MP phone, LTE smartwatch and Qi2.2 charger at IFA 2026
Motorola has announced the motorola edge 70 plus, its first LTE moto watch and a Qi2.2 wireless charger, with regional rollouts planned in the weeks after IFA.
Motorola, a Lenovo company, unveiled the motorola edge 70 plus, moto watch ultra and moto snap wireless charger at IFA 2026 on September 3, 2026. The three products are expected to reach certain markets in the weeks following the announcement, although availability will vary by region.
The motorola edge 70 plus puts a 200-megapixel main camera at the centre of the phone’s camera system, alongside optical image stabilisation, Pantone-validated colours and skin tones, 10x Super Zoom and 4K video recording.
That 200-megapixel figure needs context. In the stated pixel-binning configuration, Motorola says the sensor combines 16 pixels into one, producing an announced effective resolution of 12.5 megapixels. The sensor count and the resolution of the resulting photo therefore describe different parts of the camera system.

The Edge 70 Plus is built around a large battery
The phone has a 6,500mAh battery. Motorola rates it for up to 42 hours of talk time, 34 hours of video streaming or 23 hours of social-media browsing on a single charge. These figures are separate company estimates for specific activities, so they should not be read as one universal battery-life result.
Charging uses 45W TurboPower and includes a bypass-charging function intended for gaming. The display is a 6.78-inch quad-curved Extreme AMOLED panel with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. Inside, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X memory and either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The Moto Watch Ultra brings cellular connectivity
The moto watch ultra is Motorola’s first moto watch with LTE. Through its cellular connection, it can place and receive calls, send text messages and manage notifications. It runs Wear OS by Google and offers access to the Google Play Store, including YouTube Music, Google Maps, Google Messages and Google Gemini.
Its Polar wellness and fitness features include Serene, Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, Activity Goal, Activity Score and Running Coach. The hardware includes a 1.5-inch OLED display rated at up to 2,700 nits and a 46mm stainless-steel case.
Motorola quotes up to two days of active use with the always-on display disabled, or up to 24 hours of active use after 15 minutes of charging. Those estimates give the watch a different operating profile depending on whether the always-on display is part of daily use.
The Moto Snap charger does not guarantee its top speed
The moto snap wireless charger delivers up to 25W on compatible Qi2.2 devices and up to 30W on supported Motorola devices using Motorola’s proprietary protocol. It includes a braided 1.5-metre USB Type-C cable, magnetic alignment, compatibility with magnetic cases, and protection against overheating and overcharging.
Maximum wireless-charging speed remains device-dependent. Motorola says it can also vary with battery condition and environmental factors, meaning a compatible device will not necessarily reach the advertised top speed.
The charger is scheduled to roll out in certain regions of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, with a starting recommended retail price of €39. The moto watch ultra is expected in selected regions across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific, starting at €429. A starting price for the motorola edge 70 plus was not announced with the other products.
Motorola’s IFA announcement is therefore broader than a single phone launch. The Edge 70 Plus supplies the main smartphone hardware, the Moto Watch Ultra adds LTE and Wear OS services, and the charger extends the accessory range. Buyers will still need to check regional availability, watch the Edge 70 Plus pricing and confirm device-specific charging speeds when the rollout begins.
