AppleCare One reaches the UK with multi-device coverage

Apple’s UK rollout combines coverage for up to three eligible devices in one monthly plan and extends theft-and-loss protection to iPad and Apple Watch.

AppleCare One is now available in the UK, giving customers a single monthly plan for protecting multiple eligible Apple devices. The service covers up to three products from £16.99 per month, with additional devices available for £4.99 per month each. Apple announced the UK rollout through its official Apple Newsroom update.

The announcement matters because it changes how households with several Apple products can manage support and accidental-damage protection. Instead of maintaining separate plans for an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, customers can place eligible devices under one subscription and manage them together. AppleCare One is available through Apple’s UK website and Apple Stores, and existing AppleCare+ customers can also sign up directly from an iPhone, iPad or Mac.

One plan for several devices

AppleCare One includes the main benefits associated with AppleCare+, including unlimited repairs for accidental damage, battery replacement service and 24/7 priority access to Apple experts. Apple says repairs use genuine parts and are performed through Apple Store locations or its network of Apple Authorised Service Providers.

The pricing is fixed by the number of devices rather than by a separate fee for each product category. Apple says that a customer covering an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch together could save up to £11.48 per month compared with maintaining separate AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss coverage for each device. That figure is a maximum comparison supplied by Apple, so the actual value depends on the devices included and the coverage selected.

Existing devices can qualify

A notable part of the UK launch is the option to add eligible products that are already owned. Apple says products up to four years old may be added if they are in good condition. A diagnostic check may be required using the customer’s iPhone or iPad, or at an Apple Store, before coverage begins. The devices must be associated with the customer’s Apple Account, and the announcement notes that headphones have a separate one-year age limit.

This gives customers more flexibility than the usual purchase window associated with AppleCare+. It also introduces an important condition: the plan is not a way to cover a damaged product immediately after the fact. Apple must be able to establish that an eligible device is in acceptable condition before it is enrolled, and customers should review the applicable terms before paying for the subscription.

Coverage follows upgrades

Apple is also positioning AppleCare One as a continuing subscription rather than a one-time attachment to a particular device. When a customer trades in a covered product and buys its replacement directly from Apple, the old product is automatically removed from the plan and replaced with the new one. Customers can add or remove devices as their needs change, while keeping the subscription active for as long as they choose.

That approach may be useful for families whose device mix changes over time. A customer could begin with an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, then remove an older product after a trade-in or add another eligible device later. However, the plan’s convenience does not remove the need to check eligibility, service fees and regional terms before making a claim or changing the covered products.

Theft and loss protection expands

Alongside AppleCare One, Apple is extending AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss to iPad and Apple Watch in the UK. The single-device option is now available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Apple says the coverage protects against up to two incidents of theft or loss per year, in addition to battery replacement service, priority support and unlimited repairs for accidental damage.

Excess fees apply, so theft-and-loss coverage should not be treated as a completely cost-free replacement promise. Customers should also confirm that the product and claim meet Apple’s requirements. The distinction between AppleCare One and a single-device AppleCare+ plan is therefore important: AppleCare One is designed to consolidate multiple products, while the individual plan can be used when only one device needs coverage.

What the UK launch means

AppleCare One does not introduce a new iPhone feature or change the hardware itself. Its significance is organisational: it turns device protection into a flexible subscription that can follow a customer’s Apple product collection. The UK launch also makes the decision more relevant for people who use Apple devices across work, school and home, where a single damaged or lost product can affect several daily routines.

For anyone considering the plan, the sensible comparison is not simply the monthly headline price. Check which products are eligible, whether each device is in good condition, what excess fees apply, and whether separate AppleCare+ plans would provide better value for a smaller device collection. Apple’s UK AppleCare information page provides the current sign-up route and plan details.
